The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

Be a Fan
If you are a fan of dignity, acceptance, and the human race, then you are already a fan of Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.
Volunteer, Support, Coach or Compete
The Young Athletes Program has been created to include athletes ages 2 ½ -7 years old who qualify for our program based on Special Olympic Pennsylvania Statement of Eligibility. Our program is a play based program that will not only facilitate growth, but also offer parents and other children the tools to grow, to play together, and to become stronger in many ways.
Because Special Olympics of PA - Schuylkill County is not funded by state programs, our yearly budget is solely based on the generosity of local businesses, private donations, foundations, and fundraisers. Without their dedication and commitment, we would not be able to sustain these sports for our athletes.
